The Three Horseshoes, Goulceby

the Lincolnshire Wolds Pub for Camping, Glamping & Marquee Weddings

Come and see our amazing venue.  Book an appointment now!

We are an unlicenced venue but we can do outdoor humanist or religious blessing ceremonies to celebrate your wedding at the Three Horseshoes.

wedding garden ceremony 2

We are currently not licensed to perform weddings.  Whilst you can have a ceremony here, you can't legally get married on these premesis, for this you will need a legal place of registering marriage: church, registry office and many others.

Some people marry quietly (and cheaply) in a registry office and have a ceremony in front of guests here.

  • Ceremonies at the Horseshoes Open or Close

The ceremonial part of a wedding is not included within your wedding package.

    Wedding License

To legally marry you require a few things, one of which is a venue with a wedding license.  Some churches, registry offices and many other buildings are registered to marry you but we are not at the moment.  A wedding license is something that is in our plans but requires some building and development in the meantime.  The legal bit of marriage however is the signing of the register in front of witnesses - that's it, that does allow some movement...

    Ceremonies

Before the law loosened on wedding licensing a few years ago the options for most couples were far more limited: registry office or church for the most part.  This led to couples seeking alternative ceremonies in alternative places:  beaches, mountain tops, gardens etc and this is certainly possible at the Horseshoes.

A person, religious or non religious can be employed to conduct a ceremony in the style the couple choose, formal, humanist and religious are all possible.  It is in effect a wedding blessing but to all present follows the format of a wedding - just the signing of the registar is missing, something many couples can do before the party.
