You will need to add a catering option for your main wedding meal.  Choose a traditional wedding breakfast menu or something less formal.

Our wedding packages allow for a flexible approach.  

  • Option 1: Catering using our in house team   
  • Option 2: Using an outside caterer from our recommended list
  • Option 3: Using your own caterer

Option 1: Catering in House

Generally the cheapest option but a bit more limited in what we can offer as a pub.  Ideal for food suitable for catering for large quantities that does not need any more specialist equipment or skills than the pub already has.

Please see the sample menus our chef has prepared below for a formal wedding breakfast, we can also offer some other less formal options such as a carvery.

  • Standard wedding breakfast menu Open or Close

    Our wedding breakfast menus include service to all guests, crockery, glasses and utensils as appropriate.

    The following menu is a traditional wedding breakfast for a formal occasion and can be prepared by our in house team.  Estimated cost is in the range of £18-£25 per head.

    Three Course Menu

    Starters 
    CHOOSE TWO OF THE SELECTION BELOW.

    Soup of the moment plus crusty roll (v)

    Traditional prawn cocktail bound in paprika marie rose sauce served on dressed leaves with wholemeal bread.

    Mushroom al forno served with toasted ciabatta.(v)

    Trio of potato skins filled with either (bacon and cheese/creamed leek/soured cream).

    Melon frappe drizzed with fruit coulis. (v)

    Homemade fish goujons with lemon dressed salad and tartare sauce.

    Your choice of home made pate (choose one of the following smoked mackerel, chicken liver or mushroom).

    Mains

    SELECT TWO OF THE FOLLOWING MAINS PLUS ONE VEGETARIAN IF REQUIRED

    Roast topside of beef served with roast potatoes yorkshire pudding

    Homemade chicken cordon bleu filled with ham and cheese served with pamentier potatoes

    Herb crusted cod basil pesto, saute potatoes.

    A choice of pie served with creamy mash (choose one of the following steak and ale, chicken and mushroom or ham and turkey).

    Stuffed pork tenderloin with thyme and apple stuffing and herb roast potatoes

    Butternut squash and sage rissoto.(v) (seasonal, autumn)

    Mushroom and cashew nut roast served with a redcurrant jus. (v)

    Stuffed roasted red pepper served with parmesan shavings. (v)

    ALL OUR MAIN COURSES ARE SERVED WITH SEASONAL VEGETABLES.

     

    Desserts

    DESERT SELECT TWO 

    Homemade  fruit crumble served with (choose one from custard/cream/ice cream)

    Profiteroles filled with cream and topped with chocolate sauce.

    Individual sherry trifle.

    Homemade vanilla and seasonal berry cheesecake.

    Creme brulee. served with homemade shortbread biscuit.

    Cheese platter.

    Self serve to allow guests to wander after their meal

  • Premium wedding breakfast menu Open or Close

    Our wedding breakfast menus include service to all guests, crockery, glasses and utensils as appropriate.

    The following menu is a premium wedding breakfast for a formal occasion and would be charged at an estimated £30-£40 per head as a catering option on top of our standard wedding package.  We would generally use outside caterers for this type of menu.

    Trio of salmon smoked, poached and gravalax served with salad leaves and dressing.

    Crab cakes with a sweet chilli dipping sauce.

    Halloumi stuffed peppers with mushroom and couscous.(v)

    Tomato basil red onion bruschetta.(v).

    Some couples choose to greet guests with a toasting drink and canapes which are served by our waiting staff.  Canapes are often a good idea if you have an early wedding and there is some time to fill between arrival and the main meal.

Summer Opening Times

Our opening times are reduced come the end of October

Last food orders are at 2pm (lunch sessions) and 8.30 or 9pm (evening sessions). Carvery is served Sunday Lunchtimes until 2.30pm.

The pub is open all day, morning to late over the summer catering for our campers, glampers and visitors serving drinks, cream teas, cakes and selling items from our in house pub shop.  We are a great place as a base for your walk in the Lincolnshire Wolds and along the Viking Way which passes through the village.  A more extensive menu is available during our lunchtimes and evening sessions.
