Launching our new Fish and Chip Shop Takeaway on Friday Nights
With the pub closed but the campsite now open we have the demand necessary to launch our new Fish and Chip shop service on Friday evenings from 6pm. No pre-ordering required, just turn up, order, pay and collect for your food just like a normal fish and chip shop - except its not quite a normal chippy because our fish is locally sourced, cooked in our well liked crispy beer batter and has our excellent pub chips rather than those soggy things from the 'normal' chippy (nice but soggy). You even get a wedge of lemon and a sachet of sauce! To chip shop it you can add mushy peas, gravy or curry sauce in a tub on the side for £1. All served in a box, ready to take home.

Adapting to the times and whilst the pub is closed, we have developed a continental outside style bistro. Enjoy a beer on the rear patio or in the marquee with various drinks both alcolholic and non. On a nice evening why not walk down, have a chat and enjoy a bottle of beer, cider, wine etc whilst munching on your fish and chips. You can have a plastic fork! Its nothing flash or sophisticated but marvelously campsite like, informal, good value, fun and open to all. Outside and socially distanced, we are using the campsite toilets which are cleaned a lot and its a lot less hassle and far safer than a pub at the moment. We even disinfect the benches!
We are open every day until the end of September and apart from the Fish and Chip Shop on Fridays we are also offering pre-ordered takeaway Pizzas on the other evenings - including Monday and Tuesday. Order by 3pm on any day Saturday through to Thursday (not Friday) and we start baking from 6pm. We will give you a rough time of readiness to collect which will usually be nearer to the 'from 6pm' time unless its really busy which is only likely on Saturdays.
It has been a very challenging year but coming out of lockdown, coupled with some good Government interventions and providing we stay out of lockdown, presents some opportunity to start. Having started it is a case of seeing what is possible, being collectively sensible (because that keeps us out of another lockdown) and seeing what happens.
